Storm Damage Roof Inspection in Plano, TX: Every Pink Circle Is a Hail Hit

Every pink circle on this Plano roof is a hail hit. Our team inspected this home in our own backyard top to bottom: shingles marked hit by hit, vents, roof metal, the chimney chase and the gutters.

The roof before we start

A wide shot of each slope goes in the file before any marking begins, so the homeowner and the adjuster can see the whole roof.

Hail and wind marks on the shingles

Hail hits are circled in pink chalk and other storm damage is marked where we find it. Up close you can see the bruised spots where granules were knocked loose.

Vents and roof metal

Turbine vents, vent caps and metal flashing dent easily, which makes them clear proof of hail. Each dent we found is marked and photographed.

Chimney chase and gutters

We also check the chimney chase and cap, the roof edge and the gutter guards, since storm damage there can let water in later.

Final check

One last look across the slopes before we climb down. The homeowner gets the full photo set to use with their insurance claim.
