Finished repair
This is where the Murphy leak was hiding: the roof-to-wall flashing.
After our leak inspection on this Murphy, TX home, the crew came back to fix the source. Where the roof meets the brick wall, the old flashing had rusted and failed. Here is the repair, step by step.
The leak traced back to the joint where the roof slope runs into a brick wall. The old flashing there was rusted through.
The crew pulled the shingles back along the wall to expose the failed flashing and the deck underneath.
GAF leak barrier went down along the joint and was turned up the wall, so water has nowhere to get in.
New metal flashing and step flashing went in, woven in with the shingles course by course.
Shingles back in place over the new flashing, with the wall joint sealed.
