Drone view of a fully underlaid roof ready for shingles in DeSoto, TX
Our crew started a full roof replacement on a home in DeSoto, TX this week. Here is how day one went, step by step, so you can see what a Lotus roof replacement looks like before the new shingles go on.
Before any shingles came off, the crew laid tarps over the patio, lawn and landscaping to catch nails and debris.
We removed the old roof completely, down to the wood decking. That lets us see every soft spot, gap and damaged board instead of covering problems up.
Damaged and worn sections of decking were replaced so the new roof has a solid base to fasten into.
Next came synthetic underlayment across the whole roof, with leak barrier in the valleys, where the most water runs. This is the layer that keeps water out if a shingle is ever damaged.
With the roof dried-in, the next step is installing the new shingles, ridge and ventilation. We will share the finished photos once the job is complete.
